Similoluwa Adeoye

Simi Adeoye is Black Yield Institute’s Land Sovereignty Organizer. Simi was brought to this work through an interest in policy, but became frustrated by working with people who did not understand the communities that they served.

Wanting to participate in work that felt principled and focused on working directly with the community, Simi joined Black Yield as a Fire Kit apprentice. Drawn to the energy and comradery of the organization, Simi remained engaged, becoming a full time staff member.

Outside of work Simi’s interests include cooking, photography, reading, writing, and spending time with friends and family.
